Royal Hua Hin Golf Course Thailand.
The historic & unique Royal Hua Hin Golf Course served up a fantastic challenge to Asia’s best golfers over the past days at the Royal Hua Hin Thailand Championship 2023 by MENA Tour.
In what was one of the strongest fields in the history of The MENA Tour, the Royal Hua Hin Golf Club was the perfect venue to see who could master the narrow tree-lined fairways at this course situated in the heart of Hua Hin town.
MENA Tour members played alongside Asian Tour, All Thailand Tour & Thai PGA Tour players during the week. 10 local amateurs (some as young as 14 years old) joined the event and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
The final day started off with 3 of Asia’s finest golfers in the final group. England’s Ben Jones led the field from Hong Kong’s Matthew Cheung & Taichai Kho.
It was Cheung who would prove victorious in the end with rounds of 69, 67, 67 to finish at 13 under par. Jones & Kho were unable to repeat the good form of earlier rounds and made way for Thai golfers Thanyakon Khrongpha, Panuphol Pittayrat & Tanapat Pichaikool to finish at 9 under par, 4 shots back from Cheung.
Local Hua Hin golfing heros, Prom Meesawat & Danthai Boonma both gained ground on the final day with rounds of 67 to finish in 7th & 9th place, respectively.
16-year-old Thai Amateur Pat Wathana took out the prize for the best amateur of the week with rounds of 75, 75 77.
We congratulate all players on a successful Southeast Asia swing of events over the past 3 weeks & we look forward to seeing them all later in the year for more fantastic events.
