MENA TOUR RETURNS TO THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA WITH GREAT SUCCESS IN RIYADH
The MENA TOUR is currently in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia where it will host 2 events on its 2022/23 calendar.
The first of 2 scheduled events for Saudi Arabia has taken place at the wonderful Riyadh Golf Club over the past days. A field of 92 players from 27 different countries entered the tournament which was played over 3 rounds. The excitement was high in advance of the event & the tournament did not disappoint.
The weather was very kind to players on the opening days, but the wind on the final day made scoring more challenging over the final 18 holes.
The early pace on day 1 was set by England’s Bailey Gill with a wonderful opening score of 8 under par (64).
Day 2 provided from fantastic scores with Gill heading into the final round with a 2 shot lead over Michele Ortolani (ITA), Victor Bjorlow (DEN) & Gabriel Axell (SWE)
Day 3 action heated up with low scores of 7 under par (65) posted by England’s Sam Broadhurst.
Gill continued his great form over the 3 days and returned 3 bogey free scores of 64, 67, 68 to finish at 17 under par to take victory in the event. Gill was delighted to win for the second time in 4 events on the MENA TOUR having won his last start on the MENA TOUR in Oman in 2020 and is looking forward to playing more events over the coming weeks.
Sweden’s Gabriel Axell produced a perfect shot to ace the par 3, 14th hole during the final round. The delighted player returned a score of 68 to finish 14 under par for the tournament.

Dubai based Dan Byrne (IRE) proved victorious over the 3 days at Riyadh Golf Club in the amateur division with rounds of 73, 72, 73 to finish at +2 for the tournament.
The MENA TOUR season continues with Tournament 4 being played at Dirab Golf Club in Riyadh on December 3rd – 5th
